End the War June 2025

 War, War, War.

How do we end this cycle of violence?

I know that with violence, nothing can be achieved. I know that there are no winners in wars. I know that dialogue and negotiations are much more powerful. I know that the lives of people are worth fighting for, not land and power but this is something we certainly cannot do alone.

We can go back in history. The question is how far? Do we go back over 5,000 years? Do we go back 1,500 years?  Do we go back 1,000 years or 77 years, 58 years or 20 years? Over all these years two people with a link, historical and theological to this piece of land – Israel/Palestine, each one believing that   they are the sole owners – This Land is Mine, they are saying and have been saying all along. Not only saying but fighting, killing and wounding, destroying and disabling, one another and for what?! For land, for power, for both? Is it really and truly worth it?

We can go on blaming one another. Yes, we are a Nation State fighting terrorists who wish to become an independent state but does the aim justify all the means? Does that mean that we being a state gives us more responsibility, more liability?

One side, no matter how it is defined cannot end the war alone. One side cannot stop fighting and end the war. It must be a joint decision. Both sides need to lay down their arms and put aside the hate and vengeance.  Both sides need to put the people first and move forward to building a future side by side. How exactly? There are ways. Stop the blame game and focus on life.  Justice, equal rights, mutual recognition and respect must be the basis, with those everything can be worked out.

It is not a dream. It is the only reality.
